The 16th Gwangju Biennale, You Must Change Your Life, runs from 5 September to 15 November 2026 under Artistic Director Ho Tzu Nyen. The UCCN Pavilion, Mondiacult Scape: Nothing of the Cities is lost, is one of its 28 official pavilions. Organised by the Gwangju Media Art Platform (G.MAP) and curated by Kim Hana, it is the first exhibition of a new consortium of about ten UNESCO Creative Cities, and fills Galleries 1 to 4 at G.MAP.
Orkhan Mammadov presents The Idea of Saving Aesthetics (2019/2026), a 10-minute GAN latent space animation made with custom software, with 5-channel sound. Working from the geometric, floral and calligraphic patterns of Azerbaijani carpets, the AI generates carpets that never existed as physical objects.
